Amazons Meltable Policy

Hi,

Has anyone had any experience with Amazon’s Meltable Inventory policy in the UK? Amazon’s meltable inventory policy is that you can’t sell or send in meltable inventory to Amazon between April and October, if you do the inventory will be marked as unfulfillable and disposed of. We’ve noticed Amazon is currently listing and selling chocolate products but informing customers when it reaches over 25c that their items won’t be shipped out until the temperature drops.
We specifically want to know if the policy is applicable to the UK, if anyone has had FBA inventory disposed of because of this policy, and how you set a listing up so that FBA inventory is not sent to customers when it reaches a certain temperature (like the Amazon chocolate listings)?
Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

It is in the UK policy pages

Presumably amazon can exempt themselves from the policy - but 3rd party sellers cannot …

Really not sure why your querying a policy that is quite clear.
Are you prepared to take a chance with it? ie. lose your stock?

Meltable inventory requirements

FBA accepts products that are subject to melting between October 15 and April 30 of each calendar year. Any meltable inventory in our fulfilment centres after May 15 is marked as unfulfillable and disposed of. Meltable inventory that arrives at fulfilment centres between May 1 and October 14 is marked as unfulfillable and disposed of.

Meltable refers to heat-sensitive products that are eaten or swallowed, including chocolate, gums, and probiotics. Chocolates, gums, and probiotics will not be fulfilled through FBA from May 15 to September 30.

Products in fulfilment centres must be able to withstand a minimum temperature of 10°C and a maximum temperature of 30°C during the product’s shelf life without hurting its quality.

Note: If you believe that your product should be exempt from the meltable category, provide a letter from the manufacturer confirming that the ASIN can be stored at a maximum temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods. Send this letter to Seller Support.

Box markings must not show storage temperature requirements unless those requirements are explicitly stated as from 10°C to 30°C. [During transport the products are exposed to normal outdoor temperatures].

Products requiring refrigeration, air conditioning or freezing are prohibited all year long. Perishable products, including but not limited to, fresh meats, fruits, or vegetables, are also prohibited throughout the year.
