Why is my product parcel to Amazon being returned back to me
It’s my first time to sent my product parcel to Amazon Fulfillment Center a few days ago, via Hermes. Now I tracked my parcel on hermes, I was surprised it’s being sent back to me, the web said ‘We’ve been asked to return this parcel back to the sender.’ I also checked with the Hermes virtual chat and it said ‘We’ve been told this parcel is no longer needed so we’re returning it to the sender’.
Why does this happen? Has this happened to you sellers?
I made sure the parcel has the right Amazon label on the box. And I can see the shipping queue on my Amazon sellercentral page still has this shipment confirmed, active with the correct tracking no. I provided. I lodged a case with the the amazon but I expected the reply to be useless as always, so I seek help here. I’m just so super frustrated so I appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I haven’t checked recently, but Hermes wasn’t an approved courier for delivering to Amazon. As they are unable to schedule an appointment to make the delivery they have little choice but to return it to you.
Edit - i’ve just looked and reference to approved couriers seems to have been changed. All it seems to say now is:
“To schedule a delivery appointment for a small-parcel delivery, not dispatched with one of our preferred carriers, download the FBA Booking Form, fill it out with the information about your consignment and send it to your carrier. The carrier must use the Carrier Central to book a delivery appointment.”

Is there a reason you chose hermes over ups?

Thank you all for your feedback. That all comes clear now, much better than the Amazon staff who replied to my log case who didn’t even specify the carrier choice was the problem!
The issue with the carrier list when choosing is, Amazon did specify UPS as their partner. But then you are totally able to choose other carriers such as DPD and ‘others’. I have used Hermes before, there’s a nearby shop so that sounds convenient - if the list allows the users to choose ‘others’ it seems you are allowed to choose others.
The problem is, Amazon didn’t warn/recommend not choosing any other providers apart from this list because of the risk that the parcel will be sent back. So it’s all very confusing because of the web’s poor instruction.
But thanks for the helpful comments.
