Hermes to small claims court
I only use Hermes for low value items for the 2 - 5kg wt category
They lost a order of silica gel
So i am thinking on taking them to a small claims court for the value of a £30.00 order
I know this is low but i have had enough with their rejection on Non Compensation Items
They tried saying i had liquids which is prohibited in which i did not have a liquid
What do you think of this thanks

What a waste of time pursing £30.00. You have had to claim previously twice, that tells you simply dont use them, find another carrier.

I had a similar experience. They lost an order of mine, invited me to claim compensation, then claimed the item had been delivered (but the buyer never received it), then rejected my claim on the grounds that glass items weren’t covered. There was no consistency in their response and they simply hid behind their t&cs. I told them I wouldn’t use them again. Why would you use these cowboys anyway when other couriers, eg Parcel2go, are cheaper?

That’s not really the issue, the issue and claim is that they lost the parcel as supported by tracking, or lack of, the contents is a seperate debate and would only be debatable if the claim was for damage, or simply not delivered due to contents, but it’s been lost by Hermes and what you are seeting compensation for?
Send them a letter before action, even if you don’t pursue it further, it may get their attention and focus on the reason as ‘lost in transit’ rather than ‘disposed of due to contents’?

Just bin them off or make sure you post a tweet, usually any negative remark on social media changes their attitude
They are poor to deal with, but sometimes useful. However, if I had my way I wouldnt use them at all. Huge hassle when things go wrong.

To be honest you get what you pay for with Hermes. If you are too tight to use a “proper” courier and not some bloke in their old people carrier doing it as a side job then it’s kinda your fault

You right in they lost this parcel
That is the main reason i am thinking of taking them to a small claims court
I believe this would cost £25 to take then to court
And hopefully i would get this fee back as well if i won the case
Consumer Action Group seem to have helped a few people
On their forum site to win these sort of cases

Presuming you take a wage? and all of us also get paid, im pretty sure the time its taken for all of to read this and to potentially write a clever sarcastic response, pretty sure we are wasting our time focusing on this petty issue, we should focus on our own businesses cause that is worth more than £30.
