Selling from UK to Germany

Hi

Does anyone ship products from UK direct to customers in Germany on Amazon.de, and not have a German VAT number in Amazon.de?

Or do I need a Germany VAT number to just sell on Amazon.de?

The reason I ask is because I removed my German VAT number just after Brexit and I got suspended until I added it again, which is very strange as I had not VATable sales?
