Condition Note (Description Of Item) - Maximum Characters / Letters Actually 2000?
OK, this is a weird one I just noticed, I wonder if anyone can confirm my findings:
For the “condition note” of listed items, if you hover over the question-mark next to the text-box, it says the maximum characters (I assume characters and spaces) you can have in the text-box is 1000.
But, for a few items I have, (I think) they are labelled with well over 1000 characters of text saved in the text box. For these particular items I needed to be very specific about the details of them. AND when I look at my listing on official ASIN product page, my whole (well over 1000) text description does actually fully show up on there.
So I did a bit of experimenting: I tried to put double the amount of text in the text-box (although I did not try and save the changes made), and the text-box does seem to stop accepting text at a certain point - and that point from what I can tell (according to my characters / word-count in my independent word-program) is actually 2000 characters (with spaces).
So I wonder, should Amazon’s note under the question-mark actually say the maximum character limit is 2000?

They do actually say it is limited to 2000, just not on the screen where it would be most helpful:
“This field is limited to 2000 characters for all Used, New, Collectible and Refurbished items appearing as Amazon Marketplace listings.”
Although specificity is to be applauded, 2000 seems a lot for a buyer to read…
