Targeted for a £500 promotional credit on Sponsored Brand Ads - never credited
I received an email on Nov 18 from Amazon Ads saying that I was eligible to receive a £500 promotional credit on Sponsored Brand Ads. The next day, I set up a sponsored brand ad and put the lifetime budget at 500. The budget spent within two days, but instead of receiving a promotional credit, my account was charged and I never received the promised promotional credit. Has this happened to anyone else? These are really deceptive and fraudulent practices by Amazon.

You normally need to apply the credit to your account. Did you do that?
Advertising > Campaign Manager > Administration > Sponsored Ads Billing then at the top, the tab "Promotional Credits"
Any active credits will be there, but you have to apply them before they expire.

I totally feel your pain with this one. We were offered £1000 credit, we set up as directed, then wondered why no credit was applied and an agent said it would be ok and to continue. They then tried to collect just over £500 from my credit card which was locked so they didnt get it. Had a online conversation with a very rude member of the ads team ( Kevin) who told us that we hadnt read it properly and it was our fault we had set it up wrong which is an absolute joke. We now have to find over £500 which we really dont have, I cant believe they are being allowed to con so many people out of their hard earned cash. 😡

This is Amazon's modus operandi. Whether it's signing up to Prime, sellers Professional plan, advertising, etc. the detail you need, to avoid unexpected charges, is not obvious.
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Another saying from up North here, but reversed for Amazon, Where there's brass there's muck.

I've done a ton of these. they never say they will credit immediately and also they don't tell you to even spend money on it. Simply set the sponsored brand ad up and set the daily budget to £1 or whatever then wait about 30-45 days. a credit should then be given. I have had and used probably around £3000 in free ad credits so far with amazon. I hate them but they aren't lying on this one. read the small print.
