Orders still showing as being in transit but have been received by customers

Hi All

I send all orders next day via royal mail click and drop 48hr delivery. But recently I have had several messages from buyers all telling me that their orders have been received even though the system shows they are still in transit, even after several days. Here are a few of the messages:-

“Hi It states this package hasn’t arrived and may be late, but I want to confirm that I have recieved it, so thank you.”

“It is still showing as being on the way but I can confirm that I have received it on Saturday the 9th. All good.”

“Helloooo, I want to leave a review but the delivery says it’s still on its way but it was delivered Wednesday just gone, I was just wondering if there’s any way of marking it as delivered or anything  thankyou, from Hannah”

What worries me is that customers cannot leave a review and Amazon may be recording late deliveries of items that have already arrived!?

Christ I’d count my lucky chickens it wasn’t a raft of INR’s because the tracking hasn’t updated.
I’ve been here a decade and I don’t recall anyone, ever, saying that an item had arrived but the tracking says it hadn’t.

In terms of defects, you’ll only receive them if the customer says it hasn’t arrived, leaves a neg, opens a negative return, or opens an A-Z. Provided noone is complaining, you should be fine.

It’s to do with the RM QR code not being recognised by Amazon tracking systems.

It’s an absolute nightmare. We regularly get people asking about deliveries that have been delivered, because Amazon have sent them a message. Some trying it on, some just not paying attention to which item it is.

We get the same thing. It leads to unnecessary customer confusion and a corresponding waste of our time. It can also make the customer think we have messed up. We talked to our friends in SS and they suggest we get our courier (Royal Mail) to fix this problem. Then, surprisingly, a SS agent from Amazon.FR has picked it up and says he will look into it. (His English is better than the usual messages too so you never know!)

That is fishier than a bag of kippers! NEVER had a customer chase me up saying their item has been delivered EVER! That is best part of 18 years as well doing mail order online. To have more than one is impressive.
