What’s the best way to work out accurate profit and loss figures?

any good ‘cheap’ software that i can use ?

Do you mean per SKU or a conventional Profit & Loss statement for your yearly accounts?

If the former - I just use a spreadsheet

If the latter - there are many templates online, just google for them
