Sole Trader (VAT)

Hi,

I’ve opened as seller account as a Sole trader and filled out the required documents. Include registering as sole trader/UTR number, I also attached my letter from HMRC. But when trying to register as VAT exempt, I have been asked for additional information.

They have asked for Certificate of Incorporation or a copy of a previously filed tax return proving Sole trader status. How would I provide these as a new seller? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

all you can try is your welcome to SA letter
if not, you’ll need to wait until next year when you submit a return and then request a refund of VAT paid

if you are successful in gaining vat exemption, make sure you know going forward about how to use those exempted figures - those that tell you about exemption on the likes of youtube fail to explain that !
