Reactivation exemption issues

Hi all,
I set up a selling account 2 years ago and I appear to have made a hash of it. I have several issues that may or may not be preventing me from listing.

  1. When I try to list I get sent to a reactivation page with my charge methods. I’ve double checked the information on the credit card and all appears to be correct. Can anyone tell me if the replace charge method button is shown by default or is it only shown if there is a problem with the credit card. How do I know if the card is valid?
  2. Merge accounts - it appears I have the option to merge 2 accounts. Does this mean I have opened another account previously which is still active? After trying any possible email addresses I may have used I can’t get access to another sellers account.
  3. ‘according to our records, you do not meet the Terms and Conditions of the VAT registration exemption.
I’m not registered for VAT, nor do I need to be. When I try to address this/ find the place to correct this information I end up in a loop with no means of addressing the issue.

I’ve logged a support ticket but i’m not confident i will resolve this quickly. Any advice on either of the points in advance of contact from amazon will be appreciated.

“Replace charge method” is a default option, but do you not know if your credit/debit card is valid? Have you tried the “Manage charge methods” button to re-enter the card details?
Likewise, surely you would know if you have opened another account in the past. You are only allowed one seller account, anyway, except in very specific circumstances, so I’m not sure why Amazon are suggesting that you merge two accounts. If you were to be allowed two accounts by meeting the criteria for having them, they would have to be kept separate, not merged
When you go to the page you have linked, you should just be able to tick the box to “Declare VAT registration exemption”
