Never thought I would encounter a situation like this. Any suggestions
I just got a message from someone claiming to be the owner of a product I’m selling. I do not know for sure, rather or not, this person is telling the truth. My thoughts are that it could be another seller trying to scare other sellers off of their product. How would I go about confirming this is a legitimate person or not?
This is the message I received from the person.
“Hello,
Please refer to ASIN: B09M465GHH. We are Brand owner of this ASIN and we did not authorised you to sell our product. Where did you purchased this product? We are not giving our products to any wholesaler to resell. We take this very SERIOUS, if anyone break our brand policies. Please contact us within 24hrs otherwise we will take serious action against your account. Screen Shot is attached for reference.
Thank you”

I would say, looking at the wholesaler there should be a generic listing for that product, for 1 ball. Looks like you’ve got the usual host of sellers setting up their own listings.

Thank you to both of you who have helped respond in the thread. I’m taking the listings down. I’ve done my own research as well on the gov.uk website and have found the name of the director of the company matches the name of the person that messaged me, which seems to me that it is legit.
I’m going to recall the items and email the wholesalers about the situation.

Yeah, the item itself doesn’t have any branding on it from HATF. From what I can tell, the whole issue is that this seller doesn’t want me to list it as HATF.
Which is fine. I can relist it as something else. I’ll also just get into contact with Amazon about this as well and see what they recommend since the stock is already at their warehouse.
In regard to the seller’s name both being capitalised randomly, I doubt that’s a coincidence tbf.

These are some wonderful posts and thank you @Monty for pointing out that Safety Standard!

Does anyone have a telephone number to contact Amazon as all contact us points have been removed.

You need to check with your supplier. If they are selling to you without permission they should sort this out. If this is bogus they will tell you.
