Read onlyI have received a raft of 'listing suppressed' notifications for items I have been selling for years and when I check it is usually 'color is missing when it is required'
However, I am unable to make the change as it says only brand owner or authorised reseller can make the change and to goto Brand Registry to apply
As I have a letter of authority to re-sell the brand (and have supplied this to Amazon in the past) , I tried Brand Registry - but it wants me to enter trademark application number for the brand in order to continue. This is now impossible as the manufacturer went into liquidation a few months ago.
How do I now proceed? Although I am an authorised re-seller I cannot register myself as such without also knowing the trademark number.
Its just getting impossible to do anything sensible on Amazon. I mean the pictures show the color anyway so it should be a simple matter of asking someone to make the color attribute correct based on the picture. I am just losing the will to live with Amazon anymore.
Have you as a line of last resort looked on the IPO for the trademark number? Would assume even with the company going into liquidation, the trademark would still be active.
though its hardly futureproof as at some point it'll no longer be active.
No - I will try
The stupid thing is is that Amazon also lost all the images for the item and I received separate notifications for that problem - but they have allowed me to update the images to correct that issue but I cannot change the color attribute !!!!
Found the IPO number but when filling in the form on Amazon it then says Brand is already registered and gives a different form to fill in to be added as an authorised re-seller. This link then says my name will be forwarded to the current administrator to be added as an authorised reseller but if the current administrator is no longer active then there is yet another form to be filled in.
I am not holding my breath. The company I bought the items off had licensed the Brand in the first place to manufacture the items. A lot of brands (especially for film/tv etc) work like that. So if several different manufacturers license (for example) Harry Potter whoever creates an Amazon Brand Registry first for Harry Potter will now be the administrator on Amazon for any Harry Potter products and can stop other similar products from ever being listed by not authorising them (surely this is anti-competitive?)
In meantime, I am not deemed an authorised re-seller (at least in Amazon eyes), yet I can change the pictures but not change the color attribute of the product!!
It is so frustrating and a badly thought out system
