GTIN-13 not accepted when creating new Amazon listing - EAN already assigned to another ASIN?

Hello

After purchasing my GTIN-13’s through GS1 I’ve started to setup my products on Amazon, after looking through the forums I can see I need to put my GTIN-13 into the EAN field. However when I do this it seems like the EAN is already registered to another Brand, and the system is not allowing me to create the product under my own brand. Error: The value ‘Your Party Games’ specified cannot be used as it conflicts with the value ‘Yiqinyuan’ for ASIN Z in the Amazon catalogue.

I’ve tried this on 3 different GTIN’s (across different products) and I get the same results (with different recommended brand names) each time.

Can anyone help? If I search the GTIN in a global database I can see its registered to my product, it only seems to be Amazon which has a different record

Thanks

Tell GS1 the barcodes have already been used and ask them to provide replacements

As @The_Little_Shop said, it shouldn’t happen but does. Whether the codes were previously issued, expired and reissued or (more likely) the seller who created the listing just guessed a range that worked and kept going with it…

Tell GS1 the range is already in use and they will re-issue.
