Return because: found a better price
If the buyer returns the item because he found a better price, who should pay the cost of return shipping?

The buyer should be responsible for return shipping.

As stated, buyer pays. I always mention this in the refund request:
“I will gladly refund your full purchase price (minus shipping charges and return postage) when I receive your return.”
So far, I have never gotten one back. I suspect that it’s often a phishing trip, trying to get a partial refund to keep it; in other cases, any better price won’t make up for the postage costs.

In this case the buyer will bear the shippng cost because this is not your fault to get back the product.

I haven’t had any of these in a long time. When I did have one, I authorized the return, but figured that the return shipping at their expense, and no refund of any outbound shipping that was charged, was just. I didn’t charge a restocking fee.
If you say too much, you risk them making another return request for a false seller faulted return reason. Then you are responsible for all the shipping and have no reason for a restocking fee.
It would be nice to reward honesty of those who make honest returns, since it is so rare, but I didn’t make the rule where the dishonest reason for return doesn’t get punished.
And now, the best you will get is to not pay for return shipping, and the possibility of a small restocking fee if you prove it is justified.
