Hello,

Wanted to know if anyone else is having issues with trying to edit ASIN details through the ‘edit’ button?

When we try and change anything at all (Images, Keywords. Titles etc) we are getting an error message saying “Because the SKU you entered is already being used on a different product it cannot be reused. Please supply a different SKU” - Yet these listings have been live and working fine until recently.

Process I’m using is as follows:

  • Save changes (any of the edit pages)
  • Exclamation point error shows next to ‘Offer’ tab
  • No clear error showing when clicking on tab or see an error message reading "Because the SKU you entered is already being used on a different product it cannot be reused. Please supply a different SKU”
  • Can not save from this point

I have tried on two browsers and multiple products but most seem to have been affected.

Any ideas on what is happening here?

The SKU is different to the ASIN.
You can apply your own SKU (Stock Keeping Unit - many sellers use it as a location identifier for their stock) when you list an item, and if you don’t Amazon generate one - usually a string of numbers and letters.

The ASIN is generated by Amazon - their own Amazon Standard Identification Number.

I have the exact same problem and after many days of amazon seller support not even trying to understand my issue they told me to delete my listing and republish it… That’s not even an option. I told them i wouldn’t do that and then next day told me they fixed it, and nothing changed… I just reopened the case, this looks like it’s going to take some time… They don’t even know what’s going on with their technical issues.
