FBM Buy Box

I know that I have raised this before on the forum but I am still struggling to get the FBM Buy Box. It has now been over 2 years since I have been eligible for the FBM Buy Box.

With 100% metrics, ODR being 0%, LDR being 0%, no violations, 1 piece of neutral feedback in the last year.

I have again in the last 7 days contacted Seller Support and the Managing Director team both give me the same response

We are not able to discuss all factors that determine Featured Offer eligibility, but below are some tips to help improve your chances of being eligible.

**• Listings that are Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) are automatically eligible to win the Offer Display Featured Offer **
**• Only Professional selling accounts are eligible for the Featured Offer **
**• Good Account health and overall Performance metrics increase your chance of becoming eligible for Featured Offer **
• Listings must have enough order volume to be Featured Offer eligible.

I meet all the criteria and have done for the last 2 years.

It is starting to cause me issues. For example

  1. With new stock that I try on Amazon I would prefer to try it on FBM listings to see if sells well before committing to FBA
  2. Some lines I sell are slower sellers and are not really suitable for FBA

Would mediation be suitable for this type of issue? Both Seller Support and the MD team seem unable to grasp that this is an issue for over 2 years. I really would like to get this resolved. It does seem to be a technical issue stopping me from getting it.

I admit prior to this I had an issue with LDR and ODR which may have triggered the problem but this was due to illness and over 2 years ago. I have backup now to prevent this happening again.

I really feel that I am not being treated fairly and it makes me very uncompetitive and vastly reduces my chance of any FBM sales.

I think there is a algorithm that determines who gets top spot. Priority goes to FBA, then price and then delivery time, if it takes longer, you fall down the pecking order.
If you want top spot, pay the most charges, be the cheapest and fastest.

The algorithm is drunk at times. I have a few products that never get the buy box and I can’t explain why. One is FBA the buy box goes to a brand new seller with no ratings that sells it at 30% more than me. The other is FBM the buy box goes to a seller who sells it at 20/30p more than me has a longer delivery time and no expedited options. They also have a low rating, if that counts.
My account is healthy, with 0 for everything and 100% for VTR, Therefore,all the blah blah about the Buy Box is just meaningless waffle in many cases. The algorithm is far from perfect, that’s a fact, but unless you manage to get in touch with someone at Amazon that might understand the technical issue I think you are stuck until they make some major changes to the algorithm.

I’m in the same boat - no FBM buy box in my main category for the last 9 months. No warnings back then, but did ship a couple late. Customised items so FBM’s the only option. Now down to moving double digits / month of a single item.

While new FBM listings in the category don’t get the buy box - I have listed 1 item in a different category and received the buy box, try listing something else or stretching your imagination on the appropriate category?

It was also nice of a Mod @Art_Amazon to move this from Account Health to General Selling On Amazon questions.

So it appears that this can not then possibly be related to my Account Health at all so I don’t even get the respect of having a cut and past answer from an Account Health Mod

It is no wonder people get fed up with Amazon at times…

I would like to thank those fellow sellers who have reached out to me and tried to help me solve this issue. Whilst no suggestion or solution has worked it has been appreciated.

After careful consideration I put in a request for mediation but unfortunately this issue is not eligible for mediation so it is not a valid route for continuing this complaint.

I now feel that this issue can not be taken any further with Amazon and I am looking at what, if any, options are available to pursue this.

For now I will continue to grow my FBA business.
