Opened box return advice
Hi there, and thanks for any input
I have had my first return that has arrived back, the customer says incompatible for use. This is a headset for telephone company. Now surely it is the customers responsibility to ensure the product is compatible? But nevertheless was happy to have a return but it has also been returned opened
So my question is, Do I have to refund postage? And now that the item is open box it is either unsalable or has lost considerable sales value.
Any advice as to what I should be refunding here
Cheers

Looks like a change of mind return if listed correctly, so should have been returned in an unused condition, even if opened to inspect/test, if so you refund original cost the buyer paid, but not return postage.
The ability for buyers to open and return items (unless exempt from return once opened) is not conditional it’s resale condition, as it is a return, unlikely you would list in new condition anyway?
