IF you stock or store items in the Uk you are required to register for VAT if you live outside the UK. Beware there are lots of "Virtual address" which Amazon does not like and we get many threads of people sayimg they been linked to another busienss which just happen to be at the same address for VAT reegsitartion. . So if you...... sending to Amazon for FBA then yes.'......The registration starts at NIL there is no 53K. For UK residents you dont have to regsiter until you get to 90K turnover threshold. If you sending by Post or courier dircet to UK Customer then Amazon is legally required to collect VAT at point of sale up to a value od £150. per item on all your sales that are Vatable. There is no longer a Duty free allowance under which you could send in free of taxes/dutyVat Amazon hold the IOSS number for sales on Amazon UK which you must put on your packages and declare when sending to a customer direct. otherwise they get a nasty suprise with ffees/fines/taxes to pay.before it get delivered.

As above, if you do not live in UK and wish to store your goods here, then you MUST be VAT registered in UK - there is no threshold for non-UK residents. (it is 90K for UK residents). All the information you need about tax and VAT is all online - Google is your friend !
The point about using a virtual address here is VERY valid.
