Setting up Product - Variations not showing

Trying to set up my first product listing…
just trying to get a feel for how it all hangs together and what it looks like to the customer.

I’ve added variations to my product, (selling in Handmade and they are ‘custom’ variations).
However when I click on the product title to see what the listing will look like, the variations are not showing.
Is there any obvious reason why the variations would not show?

(I have quantity set to Zero, to prevent it from going live - would this cause the variations not to show?
Bit nervy about putting a quantity in as my listing is no-where near ready to go yet!)

Edit to add: Above the listing it shows a value of 0.00 and the phrase’ currently unavailable’. The unavailable is correct - the item price is not… is this all tied in with my zero quantity?
