Business bank account verification hell!

hi guys,

so i decided to become a professional amazon seller registered a company, opened my first business bank account. now where it says deposit methods (i will be selling in the UK only and i am from the UK) its asked for account verification with a checklist of things name has to match etc.

they asked for either a letter or a statement, because my account is under a month old and has had no money go through it, the bank cant give me a statement. im waiting for online banking. ive been in branch and they did a letter for me and stamped it but amazon said its not acceptable. i then sent them 4 other things and they refused.

when i get internet banking can i just send them a photo of that? but theyve stated as one of their conditions that the proof cant be a screenshot?

Then put some money into it as working capital - which you will need as you are going to have to pay for your stock (and Amazon fees, packaging, postage etc) before you get the sale proceeds

Even if you put money in, you cant get a statement as the statement period normally 1 month has not passed.

No you will need a statement a screen shot will not be acceptable.

Put some capital in your bank account as soon as possible to ensure that you get a statement generated after 1 month. You should have a plan to finance the business for the first few months with a starting capital so put that into the account.

Once you had some money go into the account it maybe possible the bank can provide you with a statement, otherwise you will just have to wait until the 1st statement is generated.

What reason did they give for this not being acceptable?

Are you registered on amazon as a sole trader or ltd company ? Does the name and address on the bank account match what you’ve registered on amazon ?

Just back-tracking a bit here to your first post.
Did you actually open an Amazon BUSINESS Seller Account ?, and provide Amazon with your UTR etc.?
The name PROFESSIONAL is only the name of one of the Selling PLANS, not an account type.

some banks you can change the statement frequency, try to see if you can do this with online banking, to the shortest time.

The other option is if you are logged into your online banking on a proper PC, you sometimes get an option to print secure messages.

If you do, you can use the Save as PDF option (not Microsoft Print to PDF, as this is not as readable by OCR).

Printing a PDF is also usually the best way to get around one that is password protected too

Since your account is quite young and you have not put any funds into it. Perhaps you may want to consider other banking institutions like Starling or Tide or Monzo that provider stronger online services for business customers. It may save you a lot of stress now and in the future when your business is better established and a lot of money is involved.
