toy certification

Hi all

I received notification from amazon, that the toys that I sell need certification. The units are brought from a UK wholesaler and contain the UKCA and CE markings on the packaging, meaning it has passed UK standards.

Amazon, however does not accept this and are requesting that the product be certified by one of their approved third party certifiers (at a cost obviously)

I dont understand as to why the UKCA and CE standards would not be sufficient to meet Amazons standards. Seems like another way for amazon to fleece more money out of small sellers.

Anyone else facing the same issues?

Do you have permission to sell the brand? You need to ask them for the certificates and submit them

this has been going oin the us for many months in the USA if you go on forum there. you have to have every sku tested by 3rd party amazon apporoved provider - everyone on the same sku it seems has to do it, so if manufacturer chooses to do it they must do so with amazon approved provider ( why wuld they they have done the ce and ukca tests) so onus is on seller. each sku costs 300-500 and takes months not weeks, of course amazon give us one month notice. they clearly dont want small sellers anymore.

ive messaged the support team for further clarification. It seems pointless in doing this.

I understand if they are doing this to prevent fake products from being sold, or to reduce this that source units via retail arbritage.

However these units are sourced through a verified UK wholesaler, so the authenticity is not in doubt.

If Amazon insist on independent verification them I'll remove the units and sell them elsewhere.

Was hoping a human being from Amazon would reply on here rather than getting generic responses from their AI bot through seller central.

I'll await their response and provide an update here.

I’m getting hit with this same requirement, it seems that there is no other way to resolve this except get the test done via one of those third parties or remove all stock if you’re not willing to get the test done.

I encountered this issue too, but the appeal was unsuccessful. Testing must be conducted through their partner institutions.
