Product packaging compliance
Hi,
Amazon ToS specify "You may not attempt to circumvent the Amazon sales process or divert Amazon customers to another website. This means that you may not provide links or messages that prompt users to visit any external website or complete a transaction elsewhere."
However, I'm unclear what the implications of this are for product packaging. Customers only come into contact with the packaging once transaction has been completed on Amazon. Can sellers sell products where the original manufacturer has included either a website link, social media handle or QR code leading to their website? Is there any difference on the rules for external links between the original packaging and inserts, specifically for a warranty opt-in page?
I want to (1) sell a product which has the manufacturer's website printed onto the packaging, and (2) provide a product insert leading the customer to additional information and a warranty opt-in. Is this compliant?
Thanks.

That depends. Almost all packaging has the brand's website and/or contact information. Of course if it is so prominent on the packaging that you couldn't accidentally overlook it, then it's meant to entice customers to go there and could be an issue. As for the warranty opt in (???) and additional information, that sounds like borderline pushing some agenda. You will have to make sure that to opt in (???) for warranty they would NOT be offered additional purchases on that same website.....
