Unknowingly signed up for Amazon JP,AU,US while signing up for Seller central UK
While creating UK seller central account we unknowingly signed up for AU,JP and US. My card was charged for AU while my account shows a negative balance for JP and US.
I was informed by the UK support team in order to request for a refund i need to open a case in each respective seller central. But my AU, JP and US seller central are suspended and to open up a case for anything other than an appeal to reinstate, i need to activate my account by providing the demanded documents.
As i mentioned before, i do not plan on selling anywhere other than UK, why do i have to go through the hassle to reinstate an account which i didn’t open at and first place just so i can request for a refund and close it? I do not get the point of this.
I posted the same issue on AU thread, many people have expressed similar issue. There was no confirmation from Amazons end to proceed with this.

You must have signed up for the Global account - it seems, judging by the threads on here that many have inadvertently done the same.
I am afraid you will have to go through the whole process of downgrading each marketplace .
Go to settings - Account Info - Your services - manage - and downgrade from Professional Selling Plan to Individual Plan

I have every sympathy because the sign-up process on Amazon is far from transparent and helpful. It’s no consolation, but many sellers make the same mistake as you. Presumably you signed up for the “professional” selling plan, too, which would explain why your card was charged.
The good news is that you can get a refund for those charges, providing you’ve not sold anything in the meantime. The bad news is that you’ll probably have to complete the verification process for each country first.

I did the same, you have to close individally. Im still waiting for japan to close the account. I did not realise either on sign up

Given that this seems to have unwittingly happened to a number of sellers, it seems more likely that it is an Amazon system issue, rather than sellers inadvertently signing up to global accounts. We created a UK Professional seller account in May 2021, then on 2nd January 2022 we received emails welcoming us to US, Japan and Australia global accounts for which we absolutely did not sign up to. It took a number of messages to Seller Support, each time starting with the request for a refund of incorrect seller fees, before we received a useful response. As directed we downgraded the global accounts to Individual and via Seller Central of the respective countries requested refunds of the global account fees. Refund of the illegitimately-taken fee has been received from Australia (which had been charged against a credit card linked to our Seller account), where we have had to accept the loss of the exchange rate differences; fortunately, the fees taken by the US and Japan have simply been cancelled from our Seller Central account. Seller Support has offered no explanation other than we must have signed up to the global accounts for this to happen, absolutely no consideration of the possibility that this was an Amazon system fault or Amazon employee somewhere has pressed the wrong button.

The same thing happened to me i open up an account on Oct 2021 in US/Canada market and January 2022 i received lots of emails from amazon in different languages and the only one that got my attention is one that stated that i have made an update on my credit card . i quickly contact amazon Canada and told them that its looks like some have login to my account and they will reset my account and i should change my passwords and they will reverse any changed made .
after a could of day the credit card got charge from 56 AUS ,JP 63 AND UK 45. US /CA said i should contact each market try contacting Australia but nothing regarding my refund its just my account is inactive . UK they don’t even give me an option to contact them because the account is inactive but they charge my account . Japan i don’t even speak Japanese so i don’t know how to contact to them . I haven’t listed anything in both markets .
