Suspected Intellectual Property Violations
ok i had four Suspected Intellectual Property Violations , i successfully resolved the issue on two by changing the title by simply adding ‘compatible with’ as per amazons instructions.i am more than capable of rectifying the issue myself however it won’t let me
the problem lies within the other two these are old listings and tag onto another companies listing. therefore unable to edit these listings as they are not mine i did not create them
both companies no longer sell this product , which i have tried to contact to no avail. i tried to contact seller support to edit , it blocks me at every turn saying unavailable please retry?
1 how do i speak to someone at amazon as i cannot edit the listings?
2 does deleting the listings remove account stikes ?

Hello @Patch_Nation1,
Thanks for reaching out.
If you are not the ASIN creator, you wouldn’t be able to make any changes to the listing.
If these ASINs are reflecting under Suspected Intellectual property, deleting them and contacting seller support would suffice. However, due to the current situation phone support is not available 24/7. You can still create a case to address the issue.
But if there are any ASINs under Received part, then you may want to appeal if there is a violation or you may dispute, if you have the approval from the Rights Owner.
For disputing, please share a list of the allegedly infringing ASINs and at least one of the following, as applicable:
a. Invoices proving the authenticity of your products (you may remove pricing information); OR
b. Amazon order IDs demonstrating product authenticity; OR
c. An authorization letter from the rights owner (cannot be a forwarded email); OR
d. A court order finding that your product does not infringe the asserted IP, or that the asserted IP is invalid or unenforceable.
For appealing, please share a plan of action by following the format below:
-
Root cause(s): What went wrong that the issue had come up?
Did you seek permissions before mapping? If you have permissions, provide the same.
If you do not agree to the claim, you must provide valid proofs to challenge this decision. -
Corrective measures: What steps had you taken to resolve the issue?
Did you contact the Right’s owner to get a better understanding of this issue?
Did you reach out to your supplier to confirm if they were authorized to sell the brand in question?
Did you check your existing listings to see for any infringement which may have gone unnoticed?
Have you deleted the listings that are in violation? -
Preventive steps: How can you control it? Think long term!
What are the changes you can bring in to control or to avoid similar violation?
If you are not authorized to sell a brand, how will you make sure to not list it?
Amazon does not allow listings that violate the intellectual property rights of brands or rights owners. To learn more, please review Amazon’s Intellectual Property Policy.
Once you are ready with all these points, you can send it across through the “Appeal” button next to the ASIN from the Account health page and the concerned team will get back to you.
All the best!
Ruth.

i have been trying to resolve this all day , absolutely pulling my hair out . amazons lack of support is frightening for the money i spend on your platform
it will NOT ALLOW us to open a case because the listing has been removed . contacting seller support is impossible on UK platform on this matter .
if i delete the listing the account strike will not be removed , and i can’t appeal as listing is deleted and doesn’t exist?
the items simply an add on to a trademarked product , made by another manufacturer a rubber sheath to protect item . it doesn’t infringe its just the way original creator of the listing wrote the title and
‘compatible with’ is enough for amazons requirements
i think i will no longer compete with other sellers on their listings , simply create my own that way at least they are editable and i will be able to avoid this situation

we had one of these on Monday whereby another Brand was mentioned in the product description - we didn’t create the ASIN and we weren’t the only seller on there but we were able to change the bullet points to remove the restricted word and it worked.
We did however, also have one like you last year where we needed to remove a brand from the title but the listing had been removed. Taking advice from @Anglozone we checked the ASIN on one of the other sites we are on ie .fr or .de (as it was only removed from the UK site) and we were able to change it from there
hope that helps
