Does anyone have experience of selling on both Amazon main categories & Handmade?

I’ve been accepted to sell in Handmade, but I’m wondering if actually I will get more sales in one of the main categories.

  1. It’s where my competitors are listing.
  2. The handmade items are coming up at the bottom of the search when searching in all departments.
  3. BUT - is handmade up and coming and I’d be better in there?

Had anyone tried selling in both and has settled on one due to sales numbers?

I tried this to begin with but I’ve just stuck with handmade.

As long as you are good with keywords etc then being in Handmade still comes up in searches fine. Yes, it’s more difficult if people select a category but I’m not sure people usually do.

I’ve had no issues with being found using Handmade.

I should add that all my competitiors are in the main categories but this doesn’t seem to affect me.

Both Handmade and regular Amazon items will be available on the same platform, therefore there is no need to list in both and create duplicate listings.

Handmade items have different policies and listing requirements, which are a lot more seller-friendly than the ones in the regular categories, so if you find them to be better, just list in Handmade.
