GTIN exempt but still can't list without product ID (FIXED)
Hi, so I applied for GTIN exemption for my products, which are lights and was approved. The only category I could select which leads to lighting on the amazon store was ‘Home & Garden’, so this is the category I chose to be exempt in. However, when trying to add a product on amazon seller central, there is no ‘Home & Garden’ category, instead it’s ‘Home & Kitchen’. I don’t know if this difference in category is the issue, but the product ID box is still there, no matter which category I select and I still cannot save and list my products without putting info in the GTIN field. I am putting my brand name into the correct field, which is the same as was approved for exemption.
My exemption status was approved and I received email confirmation which said:
‘NOTE: Please leave the ‘Product ID’ section blank while listing. Provide all information in the ‘Vital Info’ tab and ‘Offer’ tab. Once completed, please click on the ‘Save and Finish’ button that will be highlighted at the bottom of the screen. If you receive an error indicating that Amazon should approve the brand, please contact us via the contact us form with the brand name that you used when creating the listing along with a screenshot of the error.’
I cannot leave the product ID section blank because it is a required field. Any ideas?
EDIT: I figured it out. For some reason choosing ‘Lighting’ or any other sub category within ‘Home & Kitchen’ was a problem. I had to choose ‘Other (Home & Kitchen)’ in order for the product ID field to be missing from my listing and my exemption to work.

are you putting ‘GTIN’ in the box next to the Product ID box ?
