Hazmat Courier that will deliver to FBA
Hi,
We’ve been approved for the FBA Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) programme, but are having real trouble finding a courier that will actually take the parcel.
The items are ‘Flammable Liquid’.
DPD say they will take it, but only with an account with a 15 parcel a week minimum, their prices are so much more than Royal Mail for the things we send ourselves that it would be very expensive.
Can anyone recommend a courier that will take these sort of items? Maybe even a pallet company would work, although the Hazmat items are only a couple of boxes.
Any help would be much appreciated,
Cheers,
James

Hi, I ship mine via Parcelforce. Not the cheapest but they’ll take them.
Thanks

You need to start looking at all of the different couriers.
What they will carry varies a fair bit between them.
But if you can do a pallet, then it’s probably worth going down that route, there are far less issues with Hazmat then.

Thank you for the responses
Parcel Force require an account to send any hazmat, which requires an average of 2 parcels a week sent, this isn’t the end of the world (better than the 15 that DPD require), but we don’t really need to send anything except the occasional hazmat to fba parcel with them. So would just be choosing to send some items with them just to keep the account, even though it would cost more than double to send them.
A pallet might be an easier, but seems overkill for just a few boxes.
Can you recommend a pallet company that are easy to use for one off/occasional deliveries?

I’m hoping Parcel Force will be the right solution, but still waiting on them getting back to me. Will look at Palletonline, thank you.
Amazon’s UPS service doesn’t allow any hazmat unfortunately - unless I’ve misread that somewhere?

" Important: The Amazon Partnered Carrier programme prohibits transporting dangerous goods or hazardous material (hazmat). Learn more about the shipping and routing requirements."
^ That’s what steered me away from using the partner program for it.
After waiting days for responses for couriers on this issue, good customer service is getting very high on my list, so thanks for that

Palletonline no longer allow hazmat according to their live chat. No items that have a UN number.
Hoping Parcel Force get around to answering me eventually

That page implies that our items would be fine. Until this point:
“7.2 The Customer shall not cause the Company to carry any materials generally considered hazardous by virtue of their volatility, explosivity or the potential to cause harm to other consignments, property, human health or the environment.”
Also here is an excerpt from a live chat I did with them earlier:
“Hi unfortunately we are unable to ship this type of goods as we can no longer ship hazardous goods through the network…”
“…As they both have UN number no sorry we can not ship”
