Constant Two-Step Verification requests

I always check ‘Don’t ask for codes on this device’ but have been getting these requests at least every other day. Happens on both my laptop and my phone.

Is this a common issue people and anyone know how to stop it??

I’ve had a few requests for the code over the last few days after the site found my password wrong. As my password is automated this seems unlikely.

If you have set your devices to delete cookies on closing your browser, the Amazon system cannot then remember your previous setting for 2SV (because you deleted the Amazon cookie). Change your cookie settings and you should be OK

Over the last few months since I signed up for 2FA and in spite of ticking the ‘not for this device’ button I’ve had dozens of codes sent via text when logging-in to my main ‘device’ at odd moments .

I haven’t entered a single one of these codes - I simply tick the ‘not for this device’ button again, ignore the code (and the following ‘password is wrong’ message) and finally log-in as normal.

There is obviously something very glitchy with Amazon’s 2FA system.

{I don’t delete cookies either}

It is clear that nobody at Amazon has actually given this any thought when they decided to implement this ridiculous system. We are a business with multiple staff members who all need to access the account. I also need to access it when at home from my personal devices. This Two-step system has caused so much disruption and inconvenience; it keeps asking for a verification code even though we have ticked the box to not require codes on this device.

You need to delete/remove all the amazon cookies that each browser you use has.

eg. In Google Chrome > SETTINGS > ADVANCED > CONTENT SETTINGS > COOKIES > See all cookies and site data > Type in amazon (in “search cookies” box) > Click REMOVE ALL SHOWN

You’ll then need to log in to Amazon one more time, remembering to click “keep me signed in” and “don’t ask for codes on this device”.

This should set new cookies on your browser and mean you no longer need to a. keep signing in and/or b. need 2FA code

Hope this helps
