Rolling Reserve

Is anyone else suffering having a rolling reserve placed on their account? It has happened 9 times since just before Xmas. The basics of it are:

A change has been made to your disbursement schedule because we found at least one of the following changes in your account:

– A significant increase or decrease in your sales volume
– A high A-to-z Guarantee claim rate
– A higher refund rate than is typical for sales on Amazon
– A change in your sales volume in a new category or product type
– Higher priced orders than you have sold before
– A low late ship rate
– Long delivery times for some or all of your orders

As a result, we determined that you have an increased risk of claims, charge backs, and refund requests from buyers. A reserve has been applied to your account to ensure you have enough funds to fulfill any refund requests from buyers.

I used to answer all of the points but have now got to the point of just e-mailing seller performance and Jeff Bezos and it’s usually reinstated within a couple of days. It happened again yesterday afternoon and was reinstated this morning. I just find it so frustrating. My metrics are all good. No excessive amount of returns or A to Z’s. Feedback 99.4 this month and 99.6 for the year.

According to my experience, rolling account reserves usually last exactly 90 days. I had only 2 of these, 1 on Amazon UK and 1 on Amazon US and then never again. They are just reviewing your account. If you say that you keep getting them repeatedly since Christmas even after appealing, I would suggest you to let it be. As long as you are not suspended, don’t appeal. It will last 90 days and then it will be gone.

you could be my answer, this happened to me 10 days ago and they are holding over £7K of my money, that i really cant afford so having to pay employees out of my own pocket, as we are only a very small business.

how did you get it removed? as i would like to see if i appeal, that i can get it removed and get some of my money and pay some suppliers, staff and myself.

thank you.

I’m on the exact same boat, I keep appealing and getting the reserve lifted only for it to be re-applied a few days to a week later which has been happening for 3months on the trot now. There is no increase whatsoever, my sales are slightly down on last year due to them playing god with me on a bi-monthly basis, and every metric was and has been green ever since the first rolling reserve was placed. It’s actually becoming a joke, knowing they are holding on to my thousands as well as yours (and no doubt many others who don’t visit the forums). I can’t grow the business properly as income projections vary widely, and most importantly I’ve lost good hard-working employees due to having hundreds of parcels to go out one day, and a fraction of that the next day. Then I have to deal with a new hire when it all picks up again before the next boot comes in. I sometimes question my sanity and why I chose to do this at times…

Anyway, apologies for rambling  good luck and I hope you get your reserve lifted soon!

Rolling Reserve

I tried this once with the girlfriend I’d moved in with at the time when I started a new job.

I “explained” that I was putting a rolling reserve on my wages being used (for rent, council tax, buying food etc etc) for 90 days, just in case I needed it for other things. During this time, I expected to be fed, have a roof over my head etc. In other words, business as usual. I also “explained” that this shouldn’t be a problem as the money would be available after that time. Although, on reflection, having the house repossessed, empty cupboards, no electricity, no gas, an uninsured, untaxed car with no petrol in it etc could have possibly been sticking points, but that’s just being picky.

I woke up the next morning to find my belongings in the garden.

How unreasonable!!

I have been in a 14 day hold on my money for over a year now!

I have given up trying to sort it and now just limit sales on Amazon as opposed to sell all my items on here.

With eBay being instant paypal money and my own website and retail, i’s the only option with Amazon.

Holding a seller money for 14 days and then it still take 3-5 day to actually hit your bank it’s joke nowadays!

Thanks for all the helpful replies and suggestions, and most of all letting me know I’m not alone! I emailed on Tuesday, but still not had a reply and tried to do a withdraw tonight and got £0. Metrics are still green across the board, feedback is good, I honestly don’t know why they are doing this, it just stresses me out!

Have a good weekend everyone.
