Question about Partnered Carrier Programme (UK to USA FBA)

Hello!

Who is the classed as the “Importer” when sending goods from UK to Amazon USA FBA? I am using the Cross-Border Partnered Carrier program from the UK to the US and UPS is the partnered carrier.

I need to know who is classed as the “Importer” on the Commercial Invoice. Usually it is the seller (myself), but according to the Amazon guidelines (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GHSCW4G88VDKXB9V), “Shipments will be commercially cleared, the carrier will take care of both origin and destinations customs clearance.”.

So is it UPS? Or is still myself, the seller, that is the Importer on the Commercial Invoice?

If anyone has any experience and success with this programme, I would love to hear your experience! This is my first time sending through Amazon (usually use a 3rd party that are quite expensive) so hoping to get it right first time!

Thanks

I’ve not used it yet myself, but am planning to.
So would appreciate it if you do update the thread once you know.

I did notice that they have email address (uk-fbasend-amz@amazon.com), so it may well be worth contacting them and asking anyway.

Hello @Stoic_Store_UK,
The below information i find it on “Important information for international sellers”, but is from European Seller Central. You can find it on this link

"It is important that you understand that you (or your freight forwarder) will have to be listed as importer/consignee and nominate a customs broker . Also note that all your goods sent to fulfilment centres need to be sent under Delivery Duty Paid Destination freight terms with all relevant import duties, import VAT and other taxes paid by you."

Regards
Nickolas
