A newbie to sponsored ads question

I’m curious to know how I can tell if a particular product has any existing sponsored adds for it or not? Let’s say I have a product named ‘widget xyz’… I do a search for the product using the search string ‘widget xyz’ and in the resulting list of search results, none of them have the little grey ‘Sponsored’ name next to them. Does that mean none of those products are utliising sponsored ads for that keyword string i.e ‘widget xyz’?

 It can either mean that OR it can mean amazon is only showing organic results for that second you clicked.
