Blocked listing for a product that I manfucature myself - They are asking for supplier invoices? Is this a Joke

Hello,

One of my listing have been blocked “Sold used as new”

More than likely the foam sealer has been broke during transit & has gave the impression that its a used product.

Thing is how do i show a supplier invoice when I create the item underneath my own brand name here in the UK?

Thanks,
The Aesthetic Warehouse.

I’ve seen it said on here that you should generate your own invoice to yourself and submit that.

I think @Kika gave a template for the kind of document that might work.

As @Tool_Shack1 has said , may be @Kika can help with template.

But we faced issue which was not similar but they asked us for an invoice for a product which was our own like yours. I simply wrote on our business letterhead explaining that we are manufacturer of the product ourselves and that means we are not buying this product from anyone so unable to provide you invoice. It worked. But our case was related to missing FBA stock.
I hope it gets resolved for you soon.

If you need help with appealing “Used Sold As New” Customer Product Condition Complaints, check out my thread with a detailed guide:

Regarding invoices for your own products as the manufacturer, here is an example invoice template, showing what Amazon wants to see:

The invoices should include all of the following:

-Supplier information (name, phone number, address, website)
– Buyer information (name, phone number, address, website)
– Item descriptions
– Item quantities
– Invoice date (must be issued in the last 365 days)

I think you need to be very careful when it comes to creating invoices in the manner which has been described or you might lay your business open to a charge of false representation under the fraud act…

https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/fraud-act-2006

Invoices are legal documents that can be inspected by HMRC at any time, if you’ve just contrived one up that doesn’t actually exist and is not backed up by relevant accounting entries, then that could lead to a charge of false representation, as the thing is not actually real.

I’m not saying that is going to happen, but you just need to be careful that you don’t inadvertently do something illegal just to get around some stupid action that Amazon have taken.

Will more than likely create a plan of action then go to MD explaining the situiation and see there response to it.

Will keep this post updated with response aswell as it may help someone in the future.

I’m confident that we will get a positive response since we are the manufacturer of the item.

Thanks,
The Aesthetic Warehouse

Faking an invoice is a bad idea. A really, really bad idea.

Always wondered how this would affect us as well
We manufacture our own products, there are 8 separate parts that make it up
I would I guess have to send the invoice from the factory who moulds the plastic

If i manufacturer the items myself then its not really faking an invoice because I own the company that creates the items there is nothing made up or fake about it. Invoice would be the cost of production per unit for the amount I made during a time frame.

I think i need to contact the MD in this situation to make sure we are on the same page of what to do.

Remember that if you invoice yourself, a credit note has to be issued as well, nullifying the invoice.

Come to think of it, when testing functions in programming and payment etc, we invoiced ourselves and issued credit notes. But that is for a specific reason. I can write whatever I want on an invoice as long as I nullify it with a credit note. But that makes the invoice worthless … So why issue one for Amazon? Sounds really strange to do this just because Amazon is asking for an invoice that should not exist. I mean, it is just a charade!

What they should ask for is some kind of certificate: “I hereby declare that I am the manufacturer of ASIN …” It is worth as much as an invoice.

Hello,

Im not an expert at writing plans of actions but here it is.

Any advice is appreciated

Thanks,

Hello,

I understand that [Insert Asin Here] Has been blocked due to a customer complaints of sold used as new.

Now we will like to state that we, The Aesthetic Warehouse are the Manufacturer and Supplier of this item in question & we understand that it’s the customers perception that he thinks it’s a used product is the main problem.

What caused the complaints:
• The foam sealer when the cap is on the product is under excessive pressure by the foam that is installed on the inside of the cap causing it to break during transit (the installed foam in the top of cap stops leaks from occurring) (See image A)

• The brown tape we used to keep the cap in place during transit to our customers must be giving customers a bad impression.

What I have done to resolve the complaint:
• As manufacturer we have removed the foam sealer since it is not appropriate for this type of product and keeps on breaking in transit.

• We now use a clear tape around the cap and bottle neck to give a better first impression.
See image (B)

• We now include packing slips explaining the removal of the foam sealer & have updated the images with the relevant information. This will manage older customers whom have came accustomed to the foam sealer.

• We now place stickers when getting products ready for FBA on the product to inform amazon to not return any stock for this asin back in sellable condition.

What I will do to prevent similar complaints in the future:
• We will continue to manufacture our goods to a high quality & listen to customer feedback

• We will give all units an inspection and a quality test prior to sending out to customers to look for things that can give the customer a bad impression of the product and make sure that those units do not go out for sale.

• We will continue to make sure all items are packaged properly with all packing slips included
