Read onlyI’m having an issue with tracking numbers on all of the orders I sent out today. It looks like USPS is recycling tracking numbers, so when my customers track their packages, it shows as "delivered" to a random city from a few weeks ago.
I purchase my shipping through Amazon Shipping, and the tracking info looks correct within the order page. However, when I track it directly on the USPS website, it shows as already delivered. Already had a customer ask if I entered the tracking correctly.
@Seller_4hYgD5o54D74Y @Seller_JJHOfEe40bWyj and all other sellers reporting an issue with tracking for USPS shipping labels: thank you for sharing this issue with the forums.
I have shared your reports and cases with the Buy Shipping, Veeqo and other partner teams, and they are investigating the issue. I will post updates from those teams as they become available.

Check out the above discussion for more information.
We are experiencing the same. Essentially all orders shipped on Monday, 2-24-2025 via USPS Ground Advantage (<1lb) using Amazon Shipping Services reflect a 'recycled' Amazon assigned USPS trackingID. These 'recycled' USPS tracking IDs reflect within USPS tracking system as packages shipped/delivered in December 2024.
We have 56 of 67 orders from yesterday's shipping (Monday, 2-24-2025) experiencing this - i.e. Amazon provided USPS trackingID assigned through Amazon Buy Shipping Services displaying 'recycled' tracking information from December 2024 within USPS.
Moderator attention/input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Sellers. Thank you for reporting this issue with "used" tracking numbers being issued for your shipments.
I shared this and related threads for review. IT help if you could share any Support Case IDs you have filed with specific order/tracking details, as well as if you have seen this for any carrier besides USPS.

me too today, and seller help is non existent. They are not smart enuf to even understand the issue. Tracking says the item was delivered on the 10th of February. The buyer didn’t even purchase the item until the 24th. But they want me to send a refund?
And since my business is so small I can justify spending an extra $40 per month, I cannot even talk to a real human. Amazon should be ashamed.
Funny thing is this is NOT happening when you use other shipping program. Shipstation, Ebay or USPS directly. I checked them and they seem accurate.

Yep, its happening... Somehow we are getting USPS bought labels, morph into UPS or something else.. showing delivered! but marked against metrics..
