What to put under brand name for new account
Hi,
I am listing a private-label product that I am in the process of getting manufactured. I have my product and packaging showing my brand name and logo. I want to apply for a brand registry but that process takes a while and I would like to list the product now so I can create FBA labels for the manufacturer.
So, when I go to list a product, can I put my brand name under the 'Brand Name' form so that later when my brand gets into Amazon's Brand Registry, I don't have to request a brand change or re-create the listing?
What is the best course of action for me given my situation?
Should I apply for the brand registry, get approved, and then list? Should I list now, add the brand name, and later when the brand is approved, I don't have to do anything?
Last side question, I read something about we can apply for a brand registry only for online and selling products. If my product is brand new, can I still apply? Or does it have to be listed and active on Amazon first?
Thank You!

I would wait until you have everything worked out with the brand before you commit to having it printed or list a product using it. We have two products that we have yet to be able to release as the boss picked a name and went right in to production without even googling it first. The name is already taken and we are stuck with 10k units that we can't legally sell.

Hello @Seller_khwjeQ6rGB1DS,
My name is Dougal from the Community Manager Team and I would be happy to assist with your Brand Name questions.
First, you can list on Amazon with your brand name without being in Brand Registry. Please reference the Amazon Brand Name Policy.
If you have already started down obtaining a Trademark, you can register in Brand Registry with a pending trademark. The eligibility criteria and FAQ's are on the brandservices.amazon page.
If you have not started the process of registering your TM, there are also options to utilize the IP Accelerator program. Please note, that although Brand Registry has no cost, the IP Accelerator program does as you will be connected with IP law firms that are separate from Amazon.
Hope this info helps with your decision. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Dougal
