Sell private CD collection
We have a business seller account (both FBA & FBM) & have a personal CD collection to sell off. What’s any problem associated with this, or is it better just to get rid through Music Magpie.

You’d have to sell them through your business account here, so somehow separate the income from your taxable sales
You’d probably have issues trying to open a secondary account
I’d sell elsewhere

Aside from separating the costs / income, the main issue will be whether the category is gated for you.
A site like Music Magpie will literally offer you pennies for most CDs and not want the rest. I use sites like that as a quick way to determine what may have value and what may not.
I think it’d be much easier to quickly register a new Ebay account if you don’t already have one.

I hear too many horror stories about people trying to sell personal collections on here.
And with Amazon’s policies etc, you could end up wasting alot of money.
I have been selling my personal vinyl and other media on ebay for over a year now, and had only 1 problem, out of over 100.
A thing that helps there is you can state “no returns” on orders, so the customer can only return if your listing doesn’t match what you sold.
Remorseful purchases can be refused and ebay will back you on that too.
As Demel mentioned, music magpie will give you pennies for your CD’s, when you could check Discogs and see what previous sold prices were, plus current selling prices.
You could have some hidden gems that are going for a lot of money nowadays.
I was very surprised with some of the vinyl I had in my collection!
My boss collects music too, and recently started to buy more CD’s than vinyl, and I’ve seen some of the prices he’s paying for them.
It is alot of work, checking each one and grading/listing them, but I’m sure you’ll have some albums there that will make it worthwhile!

CDs are still quite popular on Amazon though prices have fallen across the board, mainly due to the likes of magpie, webuy etc flooding the market and knocking almost everything out at rock bottom prices.
Having said that, their floor prices have had to increase in the last couple of years due to Amazon’s fee increases.
No more opportunities to buy CDs for 1p plust £1.26 postage!
