FBA - item not as described
Hi there,
Looking for a bit of advice here. I have had a return of an item through FBA as item not as described.
I have gone through the listing, I can see no errors or miss-information. The item was returned back as ‘customer damaged’, so it was not able to resell. Amazon have told me that the item had been opened by the buyer. So it cannot be resold now as new.
It would seem that the customer just chose not as described to get a free return after opening the item and deciding they didn’t like it.
Is there anything I can do in these situations?
Many thanks!

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do.
When you signed up for FBA, you agreed to Amazon’s terms and conditions. Customer damaged returns are not subject to reimbursements.
Buyers are able to select any return reason and Amazon will not investigate whether it’s factual or not.
You could try documenting everything and then opening a case with the Seller Support, requesting a reimbursement for the damaged item, but a success is not guaranteed.

Put in a removal order for the item so you can inspect it… If you take Amazon’s word and opt to have it destroyed Amazon will probably end up selling it as a warehouse deal.
