Is there an issue with US barcodes used on UK Amazon?
So we have an item listed, it’s our own item and has our own barcode issued by GS1 in the US. All data is correct.
Amazon UK removed it with the “This ASIN has GTIN codes that do not match the brand associated to the ASIN.” reason. Which is wrong. We supplied the correct GS1 certificate and about two weeks later (!) they reactivated it and all was well.
Then a week later the listing is removed again, for the same reason. So we supply the certificate again and I am still waiting ten days later getting the odd silly “Thank you for your continued patience. We are currently researching your issue in partnership with the responsible team and will provide an update as soon as any additional information becomes available.” message.
Why is the UK system rejecting valid US barcodes? Can anyone shed any light?

Does it? In other words, does the brand specified in the UK listing precisely match the brand that is listed on GS1? Remember that bots that do the cross check don’t think.
GS1 is a worldwide organisation so as long as the brands match, it shouldn’t be a problem.

We have over a hundred listings listed with our brand on Amazon already. We have no issue listing items under our own brand.
The brands match. It’s that simple.

Amazon have restored the listing for a second time now. We’ll see if the robots switch it off again in due course.
