Permission needed for a second Amazon Account?
Hi Everyone,
I want to clarify something for myself and for anyone researching this topic in the future. There appears to be a lot of confusion within the community about whether permission is required from Amazon to create a second Amazon Seller Account in 2024.
According to Seller Support, permission is no longer needed. However, each account must have a clear business reason, use entirely separate information (including bank details and limited company), and operate in a different niche. It's important to note that account health is linked, so maintaining good account health is crucial—otherwise, both accounts could be deactivated.
From my research on this forum, it seems that many people in the community still believe you need permission from Amazon. I’m not entirely confident in Seller Support's response, so I’m hoping someone with experience can provide a definitive answer.
Is permission still needed in 2024 to open a second Amazon Seller Account?

The need for permission was removed a very long time ago. As noted though, suspension on one account will suspend the other account too. Which isn't really the same as saying the account health is linked.
