Insufficient packaging being used for FBA orders
I'm experiencing an issue with insufficient packaging being used for my FBA orders. My items are fragile and have been shipped in a paper envelope, whereas Amazon used to box fragile items, I'd like to know if this is no longer the case and what can be done to ensure proper packaging for my ASINs (we bubble wrap each item prior to shipping to fulfilment centre). Cannot get any help from support as the enquiry doesn't fit with any of the common issues/troubleshooting

As per fba terms you are supposed to package items so that they can survive a 1m fall without any other packaging applied by amazon

Hello @Seller_FDa9zz3r5bAkt,
Thanks for reaching out about this. I understand how important proper packaging is for fragile items, especially when you're already taking steps to protect them before they reach our fulfillment centers.
FBA packaging decisions are based on several factors including item characteristics, weight, and destination. If you're noticing a change in how your specific ASINs are being packaged, the best way to get this looked into is through Seller Support, as they can review your shipment history and packaging patterns for your products.
If the chatbot keeps redirecting you, try selecting "My issue is not listed" or "I need more help" to get routed to a live associate.
In the meantime, you might find it helpful to review the FBA prep requirements for your category on the Seller Central help pages.

yes we have found as a customer virtually everything from amazon and fba warehouse is now being sent in paper bags.
how do you suggest we see how the items destined to our customers are packaged?

Hi there @Seller_Nprc5XWvdLYk9,
In general we recommend Seller's review the prep for their units in the Fulfillment Center to ensure it meets the Product packaging requirements for FBA. Importantly products are expected to be able to survive a 125-cm drop test on any side. Amazon reviews shipments regularly for issues with prep and delivery however if you have concerns that a products are not arriving in the packaging set by Amazon you can attempt to have the prep reviewed with Seller Support. Please note however that the most important part of the shipment is to ensure that the prep is completed for the units before they are sent to Amazon. Thank you.

yes our items would pass a 125cm drop test.
but if amazon then do not put items in suitable packaging then damage will occur this is separate from any drop tests
for example a 4kg board game was routinely being sent by amazon in a paper bag!
I personally ordered 2 bicycle d locks from an amazon fba seller (these are the heavy bicycle locks - solid D shape) and on both orders they came again in paper bags.
we do our part but it seems the despatch team at the fba warehouse are trying to save as much money as possible on packaging (claiming environmental progress) - but still charge us the same amount.

Its your responsibility to package your products so they won't be damaged. Also make sure that the SKUs are not set to SIPP.
