UK VAT Registration Requirements
My company has fallen well below the VAT threshold of £85k / annum so I deregistered but am still selling on FBA UK. I do not ship or sell in any other EU countries.
Do I have to re-register? The Amazon help is not that great and I would prefer getting help from someone that has first hand experience.
Thank you

Amazon support sadly don’t have knowledge of every law and tax requirement in every country.
I sell FBA without Vat because I am (deliberately) keeping under the threshold.
As long as you live in the UK and are only dispatching to the UK, and not doing Pan Eu etc then its fine.

Where are you based ?
If you do not live in the UK, but store stock in UK FBA then you need to be VAT registered as you are considered a NETP.

What makes you think you have to re-register ?
If you live in UK and under the threshold then you can still sell via FBA.

I asked Amazon Support and they said if I use FBA then I have to be registered but it doesn’t really make sense that Amazon force me to register when the VAT laws says otherwise.

Yes I wasn’t very trusting of the help they gave which is why community is best.
Thank you so much for that…

That is blantantly incorrect advice they have given you !
These sort of issues need to be raised with someone - Seller Support giving out wrong advice.
For your info:
@Jessica @Winston_Amazon , @Julia_Amazon
It’s like the many times that SS tell sellers they have to send everything tracked - again wrong.

Unfortunately Amazon Support associates only know what they know. The intricacies surrounding VAT should be dealt with by a specialised department and not just daily support associates… I am grateful I have an answer though so cheers to the user forum
