Deductibles on Insurance Policy Selling in US

Hello everyone!

Was wondering if anyone could help us out. We are a UK business selling in America using FBA out there.
We took our commercial insurance with the right amount of cover, but Amazon are rejecting our application each time, giving us a generic message - Your policy has a deductible. Looking into to this, I think I am right in thinking it’s referring to excess.

Read Amazon’s policy and it states you can’t have a deductible if you turnover less than 1MIL USD. However, I called up my insurance company, and even other brokers, and they’re all saying it’s unheard of in the industry not to have an excess, especially when opting for USA cover.

Anyone been through this before, or got any ideas?

Many Thanks,
Tom

Are you using a policy worded to include Amazon as additional insureds? I recall obtaining US FBA approved insurance was quite a tricky and specialised operation that was stumping a lot of NON-US sellers as primarily only US insurance companies were prepared to offer the right insurance, for which you needed a US address.

Things might have changed however.

Thanks for the response PeterB. We have found another company offering product liability without excess. Hoping this works out this time!
