Brand Registry: Registered Company Name Different To Brand Name
We have registered a trademark (Approved December 2021)
We have not yet applied for Brand Registry, because we are at a crossroads with our GS1 account.
Our registered company name is NOT our brand name. In short our registered company name would not make a good brand name, so we created one - like lots of other companies do. But here is our quandary - after reading so many forum posts, we are concerned Amazon requires the brand name and company name to be the same? Can anyone advise if they have a different brand name to their company name and not had any issues with Brand Registry.
We already have a GS1 account under our registered company name - but for Brand Registry would it be better if we had a new GS1 account under the Brand Name??
Just trying to get it right now, rather than find out down the line we did it wrong and have to start again.
Thanks so much

I am not so sure that they do insist on an exact match as clearly one company could own multiple brands yes? Do you have your brand name(s) trademarked? I not, then do it before applying as that will massively help you.

I have two different brand names which do not match the company name, both are issued by IPO and with brand registry so can’t see why you would have a problem.
Check you’re trademark is the word mark and not just the image though as there have been problems registering just the image with the brand registry.

Our Brand name doesn’t match our Company name and didn’t have a problem with brand registry.
