Countries
Read onlyFinding this whole thing difficult to understand and accomplish.
We are in Canada selling in the EU and UK and I can't understand why we need a responsible person on the ground in either of those areas. Why can't we be our own responsible person since we know the most?
That said, would anyone know if the responsible can be a friend or does it need to be a specific registered entity?
Can someone in the UK be the responsible person for the EU?
Would appreciate any help on this complicated thing!

Hello @Seller_4ZXiTO1ItxYar,
Thank you for your post. On December 13, 2024, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will become applicable. This regulation will replace the General Product Safety Directive and the EU directive on dangerous products resembling foodstuffs. It will introduce requirements for most non-food consumer products offered for sale in the EU. The GPSR builds upon the Market Surveillance Regulation and provisions from other existing EU directives and regulations.
The GPSR will not apply in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales). It will, however, apply in Northern Ireland, under the Northern Ireland Protocol. For more information on the Northern Ireland Protocol, go to this European Commission web page.
This page outlines some of the requirements of the GPSR. This material is for informational purposes only. It is not intended as legal advice. If you have any questions about the laws and regulations concerning your products, we encourage you to consult your legal counsel.
Please note that Amazon will launch a new category in the UK rolling out to the EU for "Product Safety & Compliance" in the coming weeks to help assist.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Cheers,
Micah
