"Childrens toy" compliance requirement for an item that is not a toy at all?
As of recently I have been asked to provide compliance documentation for an item I sell as it was deemed to be a "childrens toy".
It is a set of begonia leaves for propagating. Not a toy at all, more of an old ladies hobby.
Anyways, I deleted the listing, as I do not really stock them much and thought it would be easier to delete the listing than deal with the AI trying to explain that it is not a toy.
For some reason, it is still asking me to submit documentation. The listing is deleted. If I click on the compliance request, it says this ASIN no longer exists.
I appealed the request, stating that 1) it was not a toy, and 2) I have deleted the listing. Appeal was denied.
So... should I just wait out until the deadline and have the request expire, or what am I meant to do now? It still asks for documentation and says I am at risk of having that listing deactivated (even thought it is deleted...).

This shows the total inadequacy and failings of Amazons automated systems. The appeal also seems to be automated to simply reject documents.

We're in the same boat. Packets of seeds requiring children's toy compliance docs. The automated systems are increasingly zealous and rarely do appeals get us anywhere.

Ive had a T-Shirt designated as a toy in the past (ok it was a child's T-shirt but still not a toy) and couldn't get any appeal accepted and gave up.
I am also constantly asked to submit compliance documents for items I have not sold and have not been in my inventory for 5 years or more (ok yes they were listed once, but I deleted the listing 5 years ago!). I just ignore the requests as there is nothing I can do about it.
Surely it cannot be that hard for Amazon to only ask for compliance documents from sellers with active listings?

We are in the same boat - WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS ISSUE ? @Maja_Amazon @Julia_Amazon @Julia_Amzn @Winston_Amazon @Ash_Amazon @Spencer_Amazon @Sakura_Amazon_ @Abella_Amazon @JiAlex_Amazon @Simon_Amazo

Same for us as well - every method including phone basically gets rejected instantly, there doesn't seem to be a way to resolve even when every party (including Amazon people on the phone) agree that the item is not a toy.

We have the same problem. We are selling only auto parts.

Having the same issue! We only list in Pet toys never Childrens amd keep getting documemts required actions.
Only way i have resolved the active listing ones is to keep submitting no docs needed and reply to the rejection email with the same no docs required as pet toy and eventually after abour 9 times i get an email saying products do not require childrens toys docs.
