Amazon.de removing VAT Number

Hi,

Has anyone else removed the VAT number and TAX number from Amazon.de?

I removed it because Amazon are collecting and submitting the VAT but I got an email suspending my Amazon.de account, the only way to get back on is upload my 22F certificate.

But you can only get the 22f if you have a German VAT number, so you have to stay registered in Germany?

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks
Andy

I was just going to ask this very question. We don’t need our German, French or Italian VAT registration numbers any longer because we are selling FBM and are not holding any stock in these countries, so I have looked into removing them from our business settings. But Amazon seems to think that we want to stop selling in these countries. They do not acknowledge that it is possible to sell in a VAT compliant way without a VAT number.

Has anyone managed to do this successfully?
