Which postal methods can I use?

I have been sending everything Royal Mail 24 Tracked but I have noticed that there are other postal methods offered by RM that are cheaper: For instance the 48 parcel CRL shows as having the same delivery date as tracked 24. Can I use that with no consequence if it arrives late or isn’t scanned? What I mean is if Amazon is offering it as a suitable service for the order then does that absolve me of any blame if it arrives late?

My VTR and OTDR are N/A because I send everything standard 1st class.

CRL and Tracked will both be fine for your VTR, and assuming you post by the time you stated using the service you accounted for your ODR should be fine.

The difference is really do you need to be able to claim it back from RM, and how often and how hard do you want to defend A-Z.

It basically comes down to the cost of the item - if we’re talking about a £4 item its a lot different to a £40

Well, CRL isn’t tracked, posties only scan (roughly) 80-odd% of the time, you can’t claim if missing, no signature option, same A-Z issues as Tracked tbf. I wish my Tracked 24 price was that. Depends how valuable your product is really. We don’t use tracked unless it’s over £20, but, there are other options which can be tracked at better prices, Parcel2Go are a good example of this (£2.15 yodel, can add sig, insured up to £20 for free & can add more for extra, non POD delivery though, claims team are good, although not buyable through Buy shipping)

Nothing will absolve you of the blame if its late, because ultimately you choose the courier that was unreliable.

I believe Amazon will cross through any feedback that relates solely to the delivery as they assume if you paid for the shipping that you posted it. Though no matter what service you use if it doesn’t turn up you will be forced to refund in full.

Tracked 24 is a fully tracked service in that the customer can see its progress through the system and I believe a 2 hour delivery window, with CRL 24 there is only a delivery confirmation (about 85% of the time)

CRL you can’t claim if its lost, though I believe with tracked you can.

judging by the price of special delivery looks like an up to 500g parcel.

By the way, you’d get a delivery confirmation with the 2nd class small parcel and you could claim for loss. Really depends on the value of your item.
