How to avoid damaged goods returned to stock

Hi All,

We sell FBA, and all returns goes back to amazon warehouse. If customer packaged an item well even if it is faulty, Amazon put it back in stock.

How can you avoid that? I have marked all returned stock to go back to me but if Amazon staff decide it is sellable ( and it might not be), that would go back again, and cause a problem.

Any suggestions ?

If Amazon decide to refund the buyer, but not to charge you for it, then Amazon own the goods, not you. What they do with them is up to them. Mostly buyer returns seem to get listed by Amazon Warehouse Deals.

If you mean that Amazon are putting damaged returns back into YOUR fulfillable inventory then the only way you might be able to prevent this is to apply a seal to your goods before sending to FBA, seal broken and the goods go into unfullfillable and you can then remove them.

Check out my thread with detailed instructions explaining how to prevent this from happening again:

https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/forums/t/appealing-used-sold-as-new-customer-product-condition-complaints/181143.

“Prior to sending any new inventory to FBA, put stickers on the packaging stating that if the seal is broken, the units can not be placed back into the FBA inventory. This will help you prevent customer complaints related to FBA returns in unsellable condition added back to your fulfillable stock.”

It simply should not happen where returns are resold if your setting say to return to you. Do you have proof that staff are going against your wishes? If so tackle Amazon about it.
