Verification failed - not sure why
Hi all,
I’ve just set up a basic seller account, and have supplied Amazon with the paperwork they required including a bank statement from this month (March 2021), that had account number, primary contact and address details everything they needed, but I’ve just had an email saying that the verification has failed, no reason, no indication as to why it failed. Just it failed, now go get us a certified bank letter addressed to the primary contact with a washing list of criteria - most of which my bank statement covered.
Is there any way of contacting Amazon for more information about what failed, or is that it end of, get a certified bank letter and hope that doesn’t get rejected?
Many thanks

They won’t tell you any more, otherwise it’s like telling you which PIN digit you input wrongly at the ATM. Post the message on here and someone may be able to advise you on what they are looking for

The message I had from Amazon was as follows:
Hello,
We were unable to complete the ownership verification of one of your deposit methods on your Amazon Seller account.
Please log in to your seller Central account to take the next action to complete your deposit method verification.
Sincerely
The Amazon Payments team
Then when I go to my Seller account I get the request for the certified letter from the bank to the primary contact.
Any help or advice about what I might have gotten wrong would be greatly appreciated.

I might just try deactivating those details, setting up a new deposit method on the same account and just double and triple checking everything before submitting it.
Thanks for the help and advice.

Well, on a whim, I resubmitted the same bank statement again, didn’t change any of the details of my existing deposit account already entered and lo and behold the exact same statement that failed verification the first time, passed the second.
