Can I sell my amazon account?
Hi There, I wanted to ask if anyone has experience in selling their amazon account/business, how they went about it & if this is something that amazon allows you to do in the first place. thanks!

You can’t sell your account as such, but you can sell your business.
There are a few companies out there that will do this for you.
You don’t have to be a ltd company to do so, but it does make the transition considerably easier.
Do be aware, that if you are a generalist, rather than having your own brand as such, it’s a lot harder to sell it.
Take a look at Flippa, that will give you an idea of how things are and what sells.

That and the new buyer may not even get through verification

If you are a limited company you should be able to sell your limited company and then the new owners should be able to use your existing account to go through verification by updating companies house and Amazon to match their details.
If you are a sole trader you can sell your stock etc to the new owner and then apply to transfer the Amazon account over to the new owner.
Unless you are a well established brand you may only have your stock, contacts and goodwill to sell.
Also you need to be careful if you set up another Amazon account in the future as Amazon may maintain some links to your old sold account. This could cause you problems if the new owners get their account suspended for some reason.

Empire Flippers is another broker you could consider. I think they take 15% and will help with the transfer.

What is your business just out of interest?

If Ltd conpany, you can add a director then drop yours - I believed that actually selling it is not allowed but change of ownership goes on all the time. Problem may come if you do this and Amazon blocks the new owner who may come back to you …

Yes, I would have thought the biggest risk is that Amazon might not like the cut of the new owner’s jib for some reason known only to them and then they fail verification.
There’s no way of knowing how this is likely to go ahead of time so it’s a big risk (for the buyer).
