Returns Provider programme for Fulfilled by Merchant returns

We have launched the Returns Provider programme to help you to manage Fulfilled by Merchant returns from EU customers.

If you don’t have a domestic return address in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain or the Netherlands, the Returns Provider programme can connect you with service providers to manage your returns. These service providers have been selected by Amazon and they offer a wide range of return-related services. Their services and rates are easily accessible in Seller Central. You can directly contact them and set up an agreement with them.

Enrolling in this programme simplifies the overall international returns process, reduces cross-border transportation costs and ensures a seamless customer returns experience. Once enrolled, you will use the provider’s domestic warehouse address, where the returns will be consolidated and shipped back to you or you will be offered value recovery services such as reselling, repair and liquidation. UK customers will also receive a pre-paid returns label with the domestic shipping address of the provider’s warehouse.

For more information, go to Returns Provider programme.

You have already destroyed our ability to sell in these nations it is almost impossible to sell International on your sites.
I assume these providers will provide the same service as they do in the US ie offer you 50 cents for a 50 dollar product or change you 5 times more than it would cost if we used our own courier or even the national post service of the country involved to return the goods to us.

Anyone followed the link and read first line???

Amazon launched the Returns Provider programme especially for international sellers shipping to UK customers who currently do not have a UK domestic return address

Errm - so this is only for non-UK sellers selling into the UK. What about UK sellers who want to ship internationally? So what is the point this appearing in the UK News feed?

Amazon have already made it virtually impossible to sell on UK site to international buyers. What with the way they have implemented VAT calculations and the need for a domestic return address for each country where you may sell. This service did offer a glimmer of hope until I read that first line. So no help at all for UK sellers!

But assuming the first line is a mistake and its actually for UK sellers wanting to sell internationally…

  1. Can we opt out certain products ?
  2. Then there is this UK customers will also receive a [pre-paid returns label] with the domestic shipping address of the provider’s warehouse. but I want my UK customers to return items directly back to me - not to a UK warehouse for which I will then have to pay again to get it back to me. Can I therefore insist that UK customers will get a pre-paid return label with my address and not the providers warehouse address??

Too many questions as as per usual very little explanation from Amazon.
